PocketPerio is aimed to enhance the accuracy and consistency of periodontal diagnosis according to the 2017 Classification of Periodontal and Peri-implant Diseases and Conditions proposed by the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) and the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP). Each proposed diagnosis follows by the suggested treatment approaches. Both proposed diagnoses and treatment suggestions are based on the available evidence in the literature, including the publications released by the AAP and EFP in the special “2017 Classification” issues of the Journal of Periodontology and Journal of Clinical Periodontology in June 2018.
